Things you need to know before buying your puppy

Please put these things under consideration when buying a puppy, this experience will give you 15 years of happiness but also responsibilities to assume.
With the right conditions and decisions you will make sure that your pet will live those 15 years.

THE NEW ENVIRONMENT

Your home may not be 100% ready for a new puppy. Your new puppy will be quite small in size but will still be able to get himself into trouble. Puppies are like babies and love to play with everything. This means that things at ground level that may cause a mishap; will need to be considered. Puppies tend to put everything into their mouths. Things like electrical wires and cords need to be secured.

Another concern for your new puppy can be household cleaners and poisons. Many people have household cleaners, bug and rodent killers on low level shelves in their homes. For instance, you would want to make sure these items are placed on a higher shelf when your toddler who is crawling around. This is important because virtually all of these are considered to be poisonous to a  puppy.

Household plants can be very harmful to your puppy. Some plants are very poisonous to animals. Plants such as Aloe Vera, Eucalyptus, and Baby's Breath are very toxic, just to name a few. It is always best to check with your local veterinarian before you bring your puppy home. The vet can tell you which plants you may need to get rid of.

It is best to remove all objects from the floor and lower areas of your home. It is recommended that you get down to your puppy level and see what they see. This can help you spot any problem areas and issue that you might have otherwise over looked.

The toilet is another issue for a puppy. You must always remember to keep the toilet seat lid down. Certain cleaners in the water and in your toilet bowl can be very toxic to animals. Also your puppy could fall in head first and may not be able to get a grip to get out. It is always recommended to keep the seat down.

If you have a balcony or porch, you must not leave your puppy unattended. Sometimes puppies tend to get to sneak through the bars or find a little opening. They can slip right through before you even have time to notice they are gone. Also if your balcony is on a higher level this is very important to remember because your puppy could slip through the bars and fall, this could cause serious injuries or even death.

ABOUT VIDEO AND PICTURES

Most of people rely on our videos buy our puppies. The most playful and active are the ones who normally sell faster. In fact, most of very playful puppies are NOT playful when they are put to our stage for a video footage. Why? because of the following reasons

  1. In order to take a video, the puppy goes through a normal bathing and hair drying process and (Most dogs don't like to be bathed), this is a little stressful experience for them, despite we dry their hair, also the change of temperature makes the puppy start shivering and people may think that the puppy is scared or sick.

  2. The studio where the puppy stands is mounted about 5 feet away from the floor. there are 2 tables, one big one (bottom) and the small one where the puppy stands. This is made for video and photo precision but there are side effects, most puppies will notice this height and be a little afraid of it.

Example: Carry a very playful cat or puppy and lift it at your own height level. You may see that their their playfulness disappear, but if you put them back on the ground, they go back to playtime mode.

It is very entertaining to see your puppy playing before you buy, but unfortunately our videos are not meant to display their true temperament or personality (if there is any at this young age).

Our videos are simply meant to show you the puppy in full dimensions because in a video there is more view than in a picture.

The same thing happens to some pictures. Sometimes a puppy moves too much and we can't get the right position (Puppy looking down, up, left or right) and that's why we sometimes are unable to post a happy looking puppy on a photo.

All puppies are happy and playful, there may be a slight difference in temperament between each other, since these are family oriented dogs, I am sure they will fit perfectly in your family.

If you look on our references, those puppies were randomly selected and as you can see, PEOPLE LOVE THEM!.

REGISTRATION PAPERS

Please don't buy a puppy for its papers, (AKC, Pedrigree, etc), buy a puppy because you are in love with him/her and because you will love him/her unconditionally.

PRICES

Never buy a puppy judging the price.

Prices are just relative and a higher priced puppy is not any better than a lowered priced puppy. Different breeders have different concepts or standards on their prices and that is how prices can be very relative. A lower priced puppy has the same friendly and healthy conditions as the expensive ones so please don't pick a puppy for its price, you should buy a puppy because you fall in love with him/her. They all have wonderful temperaments and are great for families, see our references if you doubt it.

GENDER

Don't set preferences on a gender. As long as you spay and neuter you will not have any problems on either gender.

Unfixed females get their hit and bleed for around 10 days, they can mark territories and may become very dominant and a hamper too.

Unfixed males can start marking territories and may become very dominant and hampers too.

Despite these breeds are not aggressive, when they are fixed they will have less tendencies to be aggressive.

Please fix your dogs before the age of 6 months.

SIZE

One of the reasons why we don't sell teacups, mini tiny, micro-mini, mini toy, etc. is because they are prone to

  1. Hypoglycemia
  2. Genetic problems
  3. Eye problems
  4. Accidents
Some get Hit by a car, others killed by a bigger dog, and the #1 threat of teacup dogs are "CHILDREN". I know what it means to love your child, and I hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings here but a lot of tiny dogs are either hurt really bad or accidentally killed by children. Despite it is not their intention to do so, children are naturally accident prone, regardless of how responsible, smart or gentle your child is to you, you can't never feel safe about your little dog.

BE A RESPONSIBLE PET OWNER, as much as you love your children you should love your pet and consider the best of the options. A safe size as a pet for your children should never be less than 10 Lbs as adult size. Not only children are prone to hurt a little dog, adults can do it too. And possibilities for accident get worse if you are an elder person since your reflexes and sight is not as good as it was when you were younger.

Probably you heard this before "my niece, friend, son, etc. has a teacup dog and the dog is fine" well statistics don't lie, and you don't want to take your chances the way they do.
If a friend drives without seatbelts and has not had any problems does not mean that he will never have.

A lot of people don't even consider safer options until something bad happened to them.

PET QUESTIONS

  • Are Second or multi generation Poodle Hybrid dogs hypoallergenic?.
Yes, regardless of their generations. A puppy will always be hypoallergenic if both parents are hypoallergenic, this is common sense.

  • Are only first generation Hybrid dogs healthier?.
In fact, the more far away you go from a pure breed the best chances to get rid of the bad genes and come up with a genetically healthier dog. Purebred dogs were initially created by mixing some breeds to come out with a cute look, in order to keep the line and standards, they did a lot of inbreeding which was another type of cloning. (Click here to learn about pros and cons of inbreeding). As long as there is no inbreeding your multi generation designer dogs, they will always have better chances to be healthier than pure or even than 1st generation dogs.

  • Is it true that only Males are hampers?.
Males and females hump. In fact, humping is not a sexual behavior, it is a dominance behavior and can be prevented by spaying or neutering your dog before the age of 6 months.

  • Males pickup their legs when they urinate, does that makes females better pets?.
Unfixed Males and females will mark territory to show dominance when they feel unsecured.
Unfixed Males pick up their leg to urinate.
Unfixed females will have their period every 5-8 months.
Unless you are planning to breed them you should have them fixed.

  • Which one has better personality, male or female?
Everyone has different experiences, I personally love them both. But based of what some people say...
Males may bound to more than one person.
Females may bound to only one person.
A Male may stay playful regardless of his age.
Females may not be that playful once they reach adulthood.
